Staying on Top: Primes new competition

Staying on Top: Primes new competition

Prime Prime Prime. I’m sure by now we’ve all heard and likely seen the new sports and energy drinks that have absolutely dominated the market since they launched back in January of 2022. Spearheaded through some of the strongest influencer and social media personality marketing the food and beverages industry has seen in recent memory, paired with a limited release window leading to customer and business frenzy alike, it’s been hard to hear about anything prime whether you’d like to or not.

However, as the summer quickly approaches, new drinks products are looking to compete and deploy similar tactics in order to claim a footing in a market which is quickly becoming more and more lucrative by the day. Today we’ll look at some of these drinks and see what makes them stand out from the crowd as the market quickly fills

Fuel

Fuel by Applied Nutrition with its almost ‘so close it’ll be a lawsuit’ design, directly seeks to compete with Prime through its branding and range of flavours sharing similarities with the popular energy and sports drink. Similarly, they’ve recruited popular MMA and personality Paddy ‘The baddy’ Pimblett to help push the sale of the product with regular marketing campaigns and his own special ‘paddy punch’ flavour recently released.

Super LXR

Marvel have teamed up with popular drinks company AriZona to release their new super promising to provide next level hydration to power your performance. The branding contains popular heroes such as the Hulk, Iron Man and Black Panther and with its 4 flavour range, we’re sure this one will be one to watch as it continues to get deployed across the UK and Europe after massive success across America.

Furocity

Led by the Gypsy King himself, Tyson furys team are also looking to cash in on the influencer marketing trend. Teaming up with Iceland in order to release his range of caffeinated drinks, they promise to pack a punch and speed you up as you slip duck and roll through the day. A recent video in which Fury’s outspoken and hilarious father, John fury disses Prime whilst knocking it a way for his son's drink proved to be a viral sensation which increased the drinks profits by 300%! Eagle eyed viewers may suspect there is some bias here, but the drink generally seems to be doing well.

So there you have it - the latest and greatest in the world of sports and energy drinks. Will they dethrone Prime and become the new kings of the market? Who knows - but one thing's for sure, it's going to be a wild ride.
