Aero

Aero is the bubbly chocolate Rowntree's invented in York in 1935. Sweet and Glory stocks imported Aero from Canada and Australia — flavours like Truffle, Scoops and S'mores that UK supermarkets never sell. Wholesale with no minimum order.

Aero — Britain's Bubbly Chocolate, in Flavours From Around the World

Aero is a British invention. In 1935 Rowntree's of York patented a way of aerating chocolate — heating it and forcing in tiny bubbles that expand as the bar sets and collapse the moment it melts on the tongue. They launched it in the North of England as the "new chocolate," and within a year it had spread across the UK and begun its journey around the world. Rowntree's was taken over by Nestlé in 1988, but Aero is still made in York to this day.

What most British shoppers don't realise is how much Aero exists beyond the Milk and Mint bars on the supermarket shelf. Nestlé produces Aero in several countries, and each market has its own flavours and formats that never reach UK shelves — Canada with its dessert-inspired bars, and Australia with a smoother recipe made for local tastes. That is the part of the range worth stocking — the imported Aero you can't buy in a British supermarket.

Sweet and Glory stocks imported Aero from Canada and Australia, wholesale for UK retailers.

The Aero Range

The imported Aero range rotates with what's available from each market, so the exact flavours in stock change through the year. The Canadian range is the established core — Aero Truffle in dessert flavours like Black Forest, Nanaimo, Tiramisu, Brownie and Salted Caramel, and Aero Scoops in ice-cream-inspired flavours such as Choco Strawberry, Double Chocolate and Vanilla Bean, alongside S'mores, White and Dark & Milk bars. Australian Aero, made to a smoother, creamier recipe, comes in periodically too. Because availability varies by shipment, it's worth checking the current range or asking us what's in.

Why Stock Aero?

Aero is a name every UK customer already knows and trusts — but the imported range gives a shop something the supermarket can't match. The Canadian Truffle and Scoops flavours and the Australian recipe all read as genuinely novel to British shoppers who only know the standard Milk and Mint bars, which makes them an easy talking point and a strong impulse buy. World confectionery is one of the most underrated import categories, and Aero is one of the most recognisable ways into it — an instant, familiar anchor for a shop building a world chocolate section. For the Canadian side of the range, see our Canadian candy wholesale guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same Aero as the supermarket?

It's the same brand, but a different selection. We focus on the imported flavours from Canada and Australia rather than the standard Milk and Mint bars that UK supermarkets already carry.

Where is your Aero from?

We bring in Aero made by Nestlé in Canada and Australia. Each country produces its own flavours and recipes, which is why these differ from the British range. Availability rotates by shipment.

What flavours do you stock?

The Canadian range typically includes Aero Truffle (Black Forest, Nanaimo, Tiramisu, Brownie, Salted Caramel) and Aero Scoops (Choco Strawberry, Double Chocolate, Vanilla Bean), plus S'mores, White and Dark & Milk bars. Australian lines come in periodically — check the current range for what's in stock.

Is Aero a British brand?

Yes. Aero was invented by Rowntree's in York in 1935 and was the first aerated chocolate. It's now owned by Nestlé and made in several countries — the lines we stock are the imported Canadian and Australian versions.

What is the minimum order?

There is no minimum order. Free delivery applies on orders over £150 ex VAT under 25kg. Orders under £150 ex VAT are charged at £7.10 per box.
